To introduce myself a little, my name is Nathan Nelson, and I am now a second-year seminarian at Concordia Seminary. I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. I was baptized at Peace Lutheran Church, which my family and I have attended since I was three years old. My mother homeschooled me from 3rd grade through high school, and I graduated in May 2020 from Creighton University with a B.A. in Classical Languages and a minor in Digital Humanities. During my four years at Creighton, I was a member of InterVarsity and led a men’s Bible study. I am currently single, but I have recently started dating a deaconess student at the seminary, and we are prayerfully considering what sharing our lives and ministries might look like.
I am currently in the full swing of my second-year classes at the seminary, and although they have already been more intense and challenging than my first-year classes, I have been thoroughly enjoying them so far. I am also continuing to enjoy serving at my fieldwork assignment of Blessed Savior Lutheran Church in O’Fallon, Illinois, where I have had the privilege to lead the liturgy a number of times as well as preach my first two sermons.
Thank you again for your support and willingness to introduce me to your congregation!
